Understanding Our Car Hire Policies and Rental Agreement

At Capricorn Car Rental, we value transparency and clarity in our services. Our rental terms are designed to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience for every customer. Before you drive away in your rental, please take a moment to read through our terms and conditions and familiarise yourself with our policies. We are here to help if you have any questions!

Age Limit

Cars are available to drivers over the age of 21 with clean driving records.  Unfortunately, we do not rent any vehicles to drivers under the age of 21.  All clients must complete a rental agreement before receiving a car rental.

Second Driver

An additional driver is free of charge with Capricorn Car Rental.

Return Time

Capricorn Car Rental Ltd ensures the car is delivered in clean and excellent condition at all times. All hired vehicles must be returned on time as per the agreement signed. In the event of any failure, an additional charge will be applied. Customers are also encouraged to report any issues with the vehicle promptly to avoid further complications. Our commitment to quality service extends beyond just the car itself, ensuring a seamless rental experience for all clients.

Deposit / Excess Fee

We do not take any deposit for the excess charge. However, we kindly ask that you ensure your account is in satisfactory standing. If you have any further questions regarding our policies, please do not hesitate to contact us for clarification.

Prohibited Usage

You have to read the terms and conditions to find out what you can or can't do with a Capricorn Car Rental car. They are listed further below.

Insurance

Our cars are insured under a third-party plan with a maximum excess of €2,500. In the event of an accident, the plan only covers damages to the other party.  The hirer will cover only damages caused by them if they are at fault. Capricorn Car Rental Ltd offers CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) by paying an additional fee to reduce the excess charge.

Delivery / collection

We offer free delivery and collection everywhere on Praslin (Jetty, Airport, and your place of accommodation). This ensures that you can enjoy our services without any added cost or hassle. We are committed to providing a seamless experience, enabling you to make the most of your time on the island.

Weather Policy

In the event of a natural calamity, such as a cyclone, tropical depression, or tsunami, Capricorn Car Rental Ltd will not accept responsibility for any damage incurred if the car is driven in these unforeseen weather conditions. The hirer will bear all damage costs in accordance with the agreed-upon excess in the agreement.

Payment Method

We accept cash in Seychelles rupees and international currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, AED, and CHF. If a client wishes to pay by credit card, please note that we accept only VISA and MASTERCARD.

Discount Policy

Any additional discount is at the discretion of the management team. They will consider various factors, including customer loyalty and overall sales performance, before making a decision.

That he has received the vehicle free from defects or damage (except as shown in the schedule) and he acknowledges that the owner has no liability in respect of any injury or damage arising from the use of the vehicle (except for the Owner’s obligation set above).

That the vehicle remains the property of the Owner at all times.

To refrain from prejudicing the owner’s rights in the vehicle.

To restrict driving to persons not named in the agreement.

To pay as per the agreement on the contract of the cost of repairing the vehicle in case of accident, theft or other loss.

To use the vehicle and accessories in a proper and careful manner and only for social domestic pleasure and business purpose and excluding: (i) Any race, competition or trail (ii) Use for hire or reward (iii) Drawing a trailer (iv) Illegal purposes or carriage of goods (v) Driving by person who is under influence of drinks or drugs (vi) Use on the beach

To lock the vehicle when left unattended.

To notify the owner immediately of any accident, damage, fire or theft and to complete forthwith the owner’s accident report form.

To inform the owner at least three days before the end of the hire if he wants to extend it

To return the vehicle to the owner at the end of the hire at the designated place, in the same condition as it was in at the beginning of the hiring.

To pay for the duration of your hire at the rates charged as shown in the schedule before driving the car.

To pay for all petrol and oil used. Fuel left after the hire of the vehicle is not refundable.

Not to drive the vehicle on the beach sand as it might stuck.

If the hirer does not comply with any of the conditions:
a. To return vehicle to the owner immediately
b. To pay to the owner on demand any lost he suffers

To indemnify the owner against any loss he suffers in consequence of any damage, fire or theft to or the vehicle and any claims made by any person in respect of the vehicle whilst it is in the custody of the Hirer.

To pay any fines, charges, costs and taxes for any and all infringements of traffic, parking or other laws for which the vehicle, the hirer, or owner is responsible during the term of this Agreement, exempt however for infringements results from fault of the owner’s part.

Any loss of keys whilst the car is in the possession of the hirer will be the direct responsibility of the hirer who will pay for the loss. A delivery fee may be levied for its replacement.

Any abnormal damage to tyres and rims other than a puncture will be the responsibility of the Hirer. Under no circumstance will the car be driven on a flat tyre, otherwise the hirer assumes full responsibility for any damage whatsoever.
